Arenal is Costa Rica’s best-known volcano. It’s a stratovolcano – a large, symmetrical volcano that’s built upon layers of ash, rock and lava – and at 5,437 feet (1,657 meters), it stands high above the rest of the countryside.

 With access to the rainforest, waterfalls, a volcano, the country’s largest lake, and a diverse selection of hotels, it’s no wonder Arenal has become the adventure capital of Costa Rica. 

3 nights at the Arenal Area

  We will pick you up at your hotel in the Arenal Volcano area and take you  these well-equipped Land Cruiser 4x4s will take you up the side of the mountain to the Lost Canyon Center.
When you arrive, you will be greeted by your adventure guides who will suit you up with your helmet, harness and gloves. There are secure lockers to leave your belongings behind.

Start off the rappelling part of your adventure with the first waterfall referred to as the “Baby” -- a small, 10ft waterfall that allows you to practice and ease your way into learning the ropes - literally!
Then hike deep into the rocky terrain of the wet and wild rainforest, surrounded by huge rocks, trees, and flowing streams. You’ll soon reach the “Big Boy” - the second largest waterfall. Imagine this: there you are, on a sturdy platform looking down into the depths of a massive 150-ft tropical waterfall. You’ll start off by rappelling down the rock face and about half way through you’ll hear “LET GO!” – a few moments later you’ll have experienced your first guided, adrenaline pumping free fall! This is when you will realize that this really is an experience of a lifetime!

The Manuel Antonio National Park is considered the gem of the area, you can explore the lush rainforest on well-maitained paths that wind their way through the National Park, leading you to different beautiful white sand beaches.

 The beautiful beaches, friendly local folk, and protected National Park are some things that have been captivating people's attention from all over the world and bringing them here for many years.
. These pristine beaches are the ideal place to relax on the white sand or go for a dip in the ocean. You can also bring a picnic and spend the day; in fact, there are no commercial businesses or restaurants, which helps to maintain the natural beauty of the park and preserve it for future generations!

The park is the home to 100 species of mammals and over 200 species of birds. If you are a birder, bring your binoculars as this is truly paradise. Many people often are also able to spot different types of monkeys, coatlicues, iguanas and sloths. Be sure to watch your belongings as the white-faced monkeys are known to snatch your stuff when you aren't looking! Outside of the park there is also a lot to see and do! The main street that bridges Quepos and Manuel Antonio is dotted with many types of hotels, restaurants, and souvenir shops. There is something to suit all budgets, from cute little b&bs to grand resorts, pizza restaurants to fine dining, you will definitely find what you are looking for.
 

We encourage you to come experience one of Costa Rica’s most striking coastlines – by open-seated ocean kayak.  This challenging yet gratifying ocean paddling adventure is just what you’re looking for. The adventure begins near the Marina Pez Vela in Quepos and winds along the Manuel Antonio coastline. From your position in your kayak, you will have the best view over the mountainous city of Manuel Antonio. Our bilingual naturalist guide will tell you what you are seeing in the mountains and tell you more about the beautiful treasures there is along the coastline. Your guide will also direct you to the best snorkeling spots; a great volcanic rock hosting wide variety of fish, crabs and other marine life, very close to the shore of Biezans Bay. After snorkeling you will make a stop at a beautiful secluded beach, where you can rest your arms, enjoy the water and your guide will provide you with a snack – fruits and cookies. With the new energy in your body, you are now ready to head back and enjoy the magical surroundings you are in.
You will now end your adventure with a nice hot lunch in typical Costa Rican flavor at a local hot spot near the beach, before returning to your Costa Rican residence. Overall, this kayaking adventure is a tremendous way to experience the exotic Costa Rican coastline in a way that only Manuel Antonio can show.
