Welcome to Bogota

 Bogotá is the capital of Colombia. It is a point of convergence of people from all over the country, so it is diverse and multicultural, where the old and the modern are combined. When visiting the city, you will be able to marvel at the charm of its architecture; you will find its different styles thanks to this fusion between past and present. Bogota is an ideal destination with history, fun, gastronomy, culture, business, and much more. 

 


Discover Bogota

  

(City Tour with Monserrate) 

Breakfast. A staff member will meet you at the hotel to take you on a tour around the historic center of the city. The first stop will be at Plaza de Bolivar to walk along the streets to see the most important buildings of the city, such as the National Capitol, which is the center of the country's legislative life; Casa de los Comuneros; Casa de Nariño, which is the Presidential house; and the Santa Clara Church Museum. The tour includes a visit to the Gold Museum, which exhibits about 34,000 pieces of metalwork from various Hispanic cultures. The tour continues to the iconic symbol of Bogota, the Monserrate Hill rising up to 3,152 above sea level, to visit the sanctuary where you will find the statue of the Lord of Miracles. From there it is possible to enjoy the best view of Bogota. 

Afternoon at leisure and overnight. 

Notes: Gold Museum is closed on Mondays; instead, we will visit “the Botero Museum or Casa de la Moneda Museum”.

Duration: Approximately 5 hours of this tour 

Operation: Monday to Saturday 9:00 Hrs. Sunday does not operate.

Salt Cathedral Tour

  

(Salt Cathedral Tour) 

Breakfast. A staff member will meet you at the hotel, either in the morning or the afternoon, to take you on a tour through La Sabana de Bogota to the town of Zipaquirá, which means 'city of our Father' in the language of the Chibcha. Back in pre-Columbian times, salt around the area was the most important commodity and the ‘salt cakes’ were the only currency for trading. Over time, technology improved and the Muiscas began to extract larger amounts of salt. As a result, an underground salt deposit was formed and it is where the Salt Cathedral was built, 180 meters below the surface. Inside, there is a chapel, “Capilla de los Mineros” built as a tribute to the Virgin “Our Lady of the Rosary of Guasá” (Guasá means 'mine' in Chibcha). Return to Bogotá and overnight

The Salt Cathedral is not recommended for persons with mobility restrictions, claustrophobic and pregnant women. 

Duration: 4 hours and a half approximately. 

Operation: Monday to Sunday at 9:00 Hrs.

 


Villa de Leyva & Paleontological Tour


Breakfast at the Hotel. 

At the specified time, we will take a tour of the town of Villa de Leyva, visiting the Paleontological Museum where the fossil of a marine Kronosaurus is located, and the Convent of the Holy Ecce Homo. 

(Lunch not included). 

Free afternoon and accommodation.


Notes: Convent of Santo Ecce Homo closed on Saturdays and Sundays

Journey through Santander

 

Breakfast at the Hotel. In the morning, we will depart from the Boyacá department towards Santander, visiting the beautiful town of Ráquira first, known for its craft shops, and then we will visit Chiquinquirá to see its Rosario Basilica. We will stop for a typical lunch included, then continue our journey with a stop in the communal city of Socorro. We will arrive in the late afternoon to Barichara, considered the most beautiful town in Colombia. Accommodation.


Includes: Transfers, Guided tour, entrance fees, and typical regional lunch.

Cultural Tour: Guane, San Gil & Gallineral

 

Breakfast at the Hotel. We will start the tour by heading to Guane, a nearby town known for its artisanal work and indigenous settlement. There, we will explore the town, visiting the cemetery, the main square, its streets carved in carved stone, and the Paleontological Museum. After returning to Barichara, there will be time for lunch, followed by a stroll through its cobbled streets to admire its well-preserved colonial architecture and churches. Then, a brief visit to the Paper Workshop. We will continue to San Gil for a tour of the town and finally visit El Gallineral Park with its enormous ancient ceiba trees and viewpoint. Return to Barichara and accommodation.

Bucaramanga & Chicamocha Canyon

  

 

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure in the morning to the city of Bucaramanga, capital of the department of Santander. During the journey, we will make a stop at the Chicamocha Canyon to enjoy the beautiful landscape and where we will board the cable car to cross the canyon in its two sections, each 6.5 km long. While enjoying the stunning canyon view, we will have a typical regional lunch. Afterward, we will continue to San Juan de Girón for a brief visit before finally arriving in Bucaramanga in the late afternoon. Arrival and accommodation.

Includes: Transfers, Guidance, entrance fees and typical lunch of the region.

Notes: 

  • Wednesday to Saturday. For Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, it is necessary to consult with your advisor in advance to make reservations.
  • The park is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
  • Activities at the Chicamocha Canyon are closed every Monday and Tuesday of the year and on Tuesdays and Wednesdays when Monday is a holiday in Colombia.



Travel to Cartagena

  

 

Breakfast at the Hotel. In the morning, if the time of the reserved flight allows it, a brief shopping tour of Bucaramanga and at the agreed time, transfer to the airport to take a flight to the city of Cartagena (air-ticket not included). Reception and transfer from the International Airport of Cartagena to the hotel of your choice. Overnight.

Note: For arrivals transfers, the night schedule applies for flights between 21:00pm and 06:00am. Rates are contemplated for daytime transfers. If there are nighttime transfers a supplement applies.


Cartagena’s Rich Heritage

  

 Breakfast. You will meet one of our representatives at your hotel to begin a panoramic tour of Cartagena de Indias at the agreed time to begin a wonderful tour of this museum city whose streets and surroundings show the charm of its colonial, republican and modern. During the circuit, you will pass through the modern area of Bocagrande and the Manga neighborhood, where the contrast between the republican architecture and its   

modern buildings will surprise you. Then you will visit the Castle of San Felipe de Barajas, that it was built in 1657, with which the Spanish sought to defend themselves from English attacks in the seventeenth century; And of course, it will be unmissable to take a brief walk through “the historic center of the city” which in 1984, together with the San Felipe Castle and the set of fortifications, were included by UNESCO on the list of World Heritage Sites.

To end the tour and before returning to your hotel, taking advantage of your stay in the country that produces the highest quality emeralds in the world, you will visit the Emerald Museum, there you will learn about the evolution of the rarest, most valuable mineral and, at the same time, the most exclusive in the world.

Includes: Air-conditioned transportation, professional guide, tickets to the Castillo de San Felipe and the Emerald Museum.

Operation: Daily

Duration: 4 hrs. approximately.

Departures:  From Monday to Friday at 14:00 hrs. Saturday, Sundays, and National holidays at 09:00 hrs.

Relax on Cartagena’s Beaches

  Breakfast. Leaving La Bodeguita Pier by speedboat to the chosen island, there you can enjoy the coral beaches and a variety of reef fauna, ideal for resting or taking some optional activities such as diving, snorkeling, hiking, among others. Below you can find the details:

  1. San Pedro de Majagua: Located on Isla Grande, 45km from the city of Cartagena, it is part of the 31 islands that make up the Rosario National Natural Park; After an hour of crossing in a speedboat you will arrive at this magical place of rest and relaxation that offers two accesses to the sea, one a little quieter and noiseless than the other according to your preference. While there, you can take optional activities such as relaxing massages, walks, mangrove tours, visiting the Aquarium, diving, snorkeling, among others.

Includes: Transfer hotel-Pier-hotel, Transfer in a regular boat (non-exclusive), welcome cocktail, lunch (starters, main course, desserts, and non-alcoholic beverages.) and pier tax.

Not include: optional activities, unspecified consumption.

Operation: Every day except January 1 of each year.

Duration: 6 hrs and half approximately - Shared service.

 

Notes: Passengers must appear at the La Bodeguita pier no later than 08:30 a.m. at gate #3 to complete the boarding registration protocol. The usual return from the Island to Cartagena is at 15:00 p.m. (depending on weather conditions, the departure may vary at approximately 14:30 p.m.).

Restrictions: Excursion not allowed for pregnant women or people with spinal problems or surgeries because of the movements of the boat. Pets and people in a state of intoxication are not allowed access to the boats.

Farewell in Cartagena

 

Breakfast. Pick-up and transfer to the airport as scheduled to take a flight to the next city or your destination.
