14Days / 13 Nights
South America reveals a unique diversity, where some of the planet’s most striking landscapes coexist with cities rich in history and deeply rooted cultures.

Upon arrival you will be met by your local guide and be transferred to your hotel of choice.
Take in the breathtaking view as your plane descends upon Rio de Janeiro – the 'Marvelous City' where rolling green hills, turquoise ocean, sandy beaches and high-rise urban development is all packed together in a unique blend of life and humanity. The natural beauty of Rio is almost transcendental and gives you a taste of the Amazon rainforest while still retaining everything that is so incredible about a Latin American city. A walk along the mosaic tiles of Copacabana reveals much about the life of a 'carioca' (Rio local) – a
refreshing caipirinha as the waves lap against the shore, a fiercely competitive game of foot volleyball, and thousands of beachgoers sunning themselves on the white sands. You have truly arrived in paradise.

With solar peaks above and a fan-shaped skylight below, it is designed to adapt to changing environmental conditions. Catalan architect antiago Calatrava says he was inspired by the bromeliads in Rio’s Botanical Garden. Financed by the City of Rio with support from sponsors, the the building seeks to establish new standards of sustainability in the municipality. Compared to conventional buildings, the designers say it uses 40% less energy (including the 9% of its energy that derives from the sun), and the cooling system draws deep water from nearby Guanabara Bay. The Museum’s design tries to explore the relationship between the city and the natural environment through its architecture.
The Museum includes 5,000 square meters of space for Temporary and permanent exhibitions, in addition to an area of 7,600 square meters that surrounds the structure and extends along the pier. The building has large eaves that are 75 meters long on the side facing the square and 45 meters on the side facing the sea. These features show the extension of the Museum from the dock to the bay. The permanent exhibition is on the top floor and has a 10-meter-high roof with a panoramic view of Guanabara Bay. The total height of the building is limited to 18 meters, which protects the view of the bay from the Monastery of São Bento, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The museum’s exhibits focus on where we came from, where we are and where we are going. Finishing the downtown tour you’ll go to the Palace BBQ restaurant to have lunch and then your guide will drop you off at your hotel.
